The Night, Bare Feet and FaithWalk with me awhile, through this night.
Walk past the alleyways of desire, prowled by cats named hunger.
Walk past the tombs of lost loves, old loves and unknown loves.
Walk past the ruins of sobriety, etiquette and nicety.
Walk past the piazzas where ignorance bubbles and froths.
Walk past the streets marked by your name.
Walk past the ones defamed by mine.
Walk past the dusty watering holes where dreams are tethered for the night.
Walk past the schools where death teaches and life plays truant.
Walk past the musician's begging bowl.
Chase the tumbleweed of an old, forgotten score.
Break into a run at the periphery of this city, where hope meets desire and dreams converse with longing.
Run, and pierce the black with the arrow of your body.
Run, till the red swells up again.
Run, till the red flows freely.
Run, till there is no more.
Race against the tyranny of the dawn.
Run, till the city drips out of every pore.
Run, till your lungs fill with the molten gold of the morning.
Run, then, till you have consumed enough.
Run, till you want to come home.
You know that you have to only step into the alley to my house
and I will rush out with nothing but faith and bare feet.
Now it's found us,
Like I have found you,
I don't want to run
Just overwhelm me.
