Memory
We're lost again. We're on your bike. You're messing up the names of places again. The sun is warm on our backs. And laughter. And laughter.
The sea is throwing tantrums again. We're the only two people in the world. The horizon is tilting again. The sea's dipping into the sun.

The crabs are scuttling again. The sand is stuck between my toes again. We're tasting of salt and grit. The sea's velvet again.

The churches are quiet again. We're walking on crunching leaves. The dogs are sleeping in the chapel again. It is quiet, as only love can be.

The markets are busy again. We're trading smiles and handshakes and nods. The currency of familiarity. The roads are winding again.

The nights are white with stars again. We're counting the ones that break off and fall into the sea. The wind is soft again.

The mornings are lit with a hundred suns again. We're lazing with the dogs. There is no hurry. Time isn't going anywhere, again.

The water is blue-green. The sea is heaving with jellyfish again. We're aboard a rusted barge, counting ripples. We have a destination again.

The hawks are dancing around us. The grass is singing again. We're looking over a city of ripples and sparkles. The wind is rising again.

Lakes are sweet again. The sand is clean again. We look at giant cliffs dwarfing us. The evening is pink and kind again.

The tide is pulling in the starfish again. We're rescuing the stragglers and the ones too far from the waves. Stars mark our path again.

The moon is setting and rising and setting again. We're looking at a sea that seems like silvery land. The horizon is within reach again.

Forts are rebuilding themselves and falling into ruin again. We're watching nature assert itself in tiny flowers growing out of cracks. Every stone is alive again.

You're battling the waves again. I'm treading water again. The sand is hot, then cold, then hot again. The nights are warm again.

And before we know it, the bus is rumbling again. The train is whistling again. The reel's playing itself out in a neverending loop.

We're in love again.
